Leeds United manager Darko Milanic seems fed up with questions over Brazilian playmaker Adryan.

Leeds United manager Darko Milanic responded tediously to questions over Adryan following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Rotherham United in the Championship on Friday.

The 20-year-old playmaker caused somewhat of a furore in Yorkshire when he joined the club from Flamengo on a season-long loan deal in August.

Compared with Brazilian compatriot Kaka due to his skill and seemingly excellent ability on the ball, the Elland Road faithful have been desperate to see him in action for the Whites.

For some unknown reason, however, Adryan spent the first six weeks of his Leeds loan spell out of the first-team picture, causing a number of observers to raise questions.

Nevertheless, after much speculation, the Brazilian U20 international finally made his Leeds debut last night as he came on for the final 27 minutes against Rotherham.

Despite his introduction, boss Milanic was yet further asked on his absence as reporters wanted to know why he had not started the match.

Clearly frustrated at his side’s disappointing loss to their Yorkshire rivals, Milanic responded tediously, as quoted by The Yorkshire Evening Post: “You ask me a lot about Adryan. He’s part of the team, he has talent and great potential. It was my plan that I bring him on in the second half.”

Judging by his stats from the game provided by Opta Stats, perhaps the questions why he didn’t start start are completely justifiable.

In just 27 minutes on the pitch, Adryan took three shots on goals, only one fewer than Mirco Antenucci and Rodolph Austin, who both played the 90 minutes, and one more than striker Souleymane Doukara.

He also proved to be capable with the ball at his feet, making one key pass in-front of a congested Rotherham defence and two successful dribbles.

There is little doubting that the former Cagliari loan star has talent, and on this evidence perhaps it won’t be long before he ends up as as one of the first names on the Leeds teamsheet.
