Leeds United are due to take on Aston Villa in what looks like a huge match at the weekend.

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling could make his first start since October this weekend, according to Marcelo Bielsa’s comments to Leeds Live.

Ayling has been out for almost two months with injury, but the full-back could return to Leeds’ defence, in what would be a major boost to Bielsa’s side.

Ayling had shone at Elland Road over the first months of the campaign, before damaging his knee.

But Ayling is now almost back to full fitness, and Bielsa has hinted that the former Yeovil Town man may be given the nod to start at the weekend.

He said: “[Ayling] may start this weekend.”

Ayling’s return to Leeds’ time will be a timely boost, as they have suffered badly with injuries this campaign.

The Whites still have a number of players on the treatment table, but Ayling’s comeback to health does at least give Bielsa some options at the back.

Leeds’ next match comes against Aston Villa, in what looks like a huge game in both club’s seasons.

Leeds and Villa are among the front runners for promotion, and Bielsa’s side would take a big step towards the Premier League with victory at Villa Park.
