The Leeds United hitman missed the 3-2 win at Aston Villa.
Marcelo Bielsa has told a Leeds United press conference that more news will be available on Patrick Bamford tomorrow.
The Leeds striker was not included in the squad which travelled to Aston Villa on Sunday.
It was a major concern for Whites fans, considering that Bamford, who scored the winner in last week’s 1-0 victory at Bolton, had only played once since September through injury.
Bielsa revealed to a press conference that the 25-year-old suffered a knee injury in training on Saturday and although he hopes it is not serious, more time is needed to discover the severity.
The Argentine said: “We think it’s not a serious injury. As it is not serious, we think he will come back a lot faster than with the previous one. In the next day we will know.”
Losing Bamford for another lengthy period of time would be terrible for Leeds.
It wouldn’t be quite detrimental, because Bielsa still has a certain Kemar Roofe who scored the last-gasp winner in today’s 3-2 victory at Aston Villa.
But with United having three more Championship games between now and January 2, rotation will be key for Bielsa and he’ll need Bamford.
The Elland Road side, who moved back to the summit of the Championship, also have Tyler Roberts should he be required.
