The Spaniard is an unapologetic luxury player. He likes time and space to play his game. He likes the ball on the floor. Cardiff and Ipswich simply did not let this happen.
In games like this the Spaniard is probably best left on the bench.
Kemar Roofe has shaped his career in the rough and tumble of League Two at Oxford United and would be a more suitable option, or even Kalvin Phillips.

In a game like this Hernandez would be more effective as an impact sub, when Leeds opponents begin to suffer from the expenditure of their energy.
At this point the fresh magician will have more time and space to scythe and carve defences apart.
In the future Monk might want to consider leaving Hernandez out when a battle is on the cards.
