Leeds lost their opening game of the Championship season 3-0 at QPR.

Leeds United lost their Championship owner at the weekend, after being turned over in unceremonious fashion by QPR at Loftus Road.
The 3-0 loss was fair given the performance of both Leeds and QPR on the day and the performance showed that Leeds still need to strengthen their first-team squad.
This is a view shared by manager Garry Monk.
QPR’s Nedum Onuoha scores their first goal
Speaking to TV Yorkshire today the Leeds boss said it was obvious the club still needed to bring in new faces:
“It’s obvious that we need to strengthen. We’ve spoken about that and I’m sure the club are working as hard as they can to make that happen and to do it as fast as they can.
“But my focus is on my players right now. We want to strengthen but we also want to concentrate on the good that we have here.”

Monk did not mention any specific names or positions but based on the performance v QPR it is clear Leeds need another midfield presence and perhaps another striker – after a dire display from Chris Wood.
One potential midfield option is Liam Bridcutt. A move from Sunderland is believed to remain on the cards but so far no deal has been finalised for the Scotland international – who spent a successful spell on loan at Leeds last season.

Leeds, who may also need a new left-back if Charlie Taylor gets his move, have already made several new signings but the team still looked short of the quality needed to mount a promotion campaign in 2016-17.
