Leeds United are set to welcome a number of players back from injury against Brentford.

Garry Monk delivered a very positive fitness update on Leeds United’s squad at his press conference earlier this morning.

Leeds fans were fearful that Chris Wood could have been ruled out for a sizeable period of time, after he had to be taken off injured during the Whites’ match against Reading in midweek.

However, Monk suggests that Wood’s injury is not a serious one – and although the New Zealand international may not be able to play this weekend, he should be back in the near future.

Monk also had good news about the fitness of both Marcus Antonsson and Pablo Hernandez.

Antonsson was forced to miss Leeds’ match against Reading, but he is expected to be back in their squad at the weekend, while Hernandez has recently returned to training.

Leeds face Brentford in their next match, and Monk’s side will be determined to keep up their good form.

The Whites could move up to third in the Championship table, if they are able to pick up the three points against the Bees at Elland Road.
