Leeds United are currently in third place in the Championship table.

Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that his first meeting with Leeds United’s co-owners Massimo Cellino and Andrea Radrizzani went well.

Radrizzani has taken a 50% share in Leeds and will now form a partnership with Cellino.

There are hopes that Radrizzani’s new investment can help take Leeds to the next level.

And Monk says that he is optimistic for the future, after meeting the Italian businessman for the first time during the week.

“I met the two owners, and it was great to meet Mr. Radrizzani the other day,” Monk said.

“I had a great chat with him, and I can see a bright future between the two of them for the future of Leeds.

“That will all evolve over time, and it’ll become more important, but I think they’re as enthused as everyone else is with the way the football is going.”

Radrizzani has invested in Leeds at an exciting stage of the season for the Yorkshire side.

Leeds have been in wonderful form over recent months, and there are genuine hopes that they could push for promotion this term.

The Whites are currently in third place in the Championship table, after beating Derby County in their last match.

Leeds are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Barnsley at Oakwell.
