The Leeds head coach says the left-back will not be sold despite his contract issue.
Charlie Taylor celebrates after scoring the first goal for Leeds
Leeds United coach Garry Monk has made it clear that the club’s left-back Charlie Taylor will not be leaving the club in January.
Leeds’ star full-back is out of contract at the end of the season and negotiations with the club’s hierarchy have completely collapsed. Taylor also had a transfer request rejected by the club in the summer.

Monk was speaking to the press yesterday ahead of the weekend’s clash with Burton Albion and the Yorkshire Evening Post quote him as saying:
“We had this in the summer. I think our stance is exactly the same as what it was in the summer.
“The club made a very clear statement in terms of what we agreed with Charlie staying here and we stick to that, we trust that.

“Charlie’s performances I don’t think have been affected. He’s a very important player for us and he’ll be key to our success going forward. Our stance is exactly the same – he’s a Leeds United player, we’re looking forward to working with him and he’s one, like a number of others, who’s the future of this club.”
Taylor shares an agent with former Leeds right-back Sam Byram. He found himself in a similar situation last winter and Leeds decided to cash in on the player – selling him to West Ham United in January.

But Leeds are seemingly willing to risk losing Taylor for a compensation fee in the summer despite strong interest from West Brom.
The hope of course will be that Leeds continue their recent good form and can push for promotion to the Premier League – perhaps convincing Taylor to remain at the club despite the clear trouble in securing his long-term future at present.
