Leeds United have additional money to spend after the sale of Lewis Cook, and head coach Garry Monk has confirmed plans are afoot to sign new players.
While he did not comment on how much they are seeking to spend, Monk says that a lot of work is going on to bring new players into the club, and he is confident the hierarchy will get it right.
Speaking to LUTV after the 2-1 friendly win over Shelbourne, he said: “We are working very well together with the owner, and with Ben Mansford (chief executive).
“Of course the club understands that we need to strengthen the squad, but we are working well and we’ll get the right players through the door.”

Monk’s comments indicate clearly that the club expect to sign more players, and that work is ongoing to do so.
His mention of Ben Mansford is telling, as it shows the importance of the club having structure, having been without a chief executive since Adam Pearson resigned last September.
Leeds have already signed six players this summer, but are a player light in central defence and with Charlie Taylor’s future at the club uncertain, left-back may also need addressing.
Cook’s exit also leaves them potentially short of quality if not numbers in central midfield, and this could also be an area in which they intend to make further additions.
