The left-back is out of contract in the summer but Monk thinks he is best off staying at Leeds.
Leeds United have been producing some excellent form this season and are currently in fourth position in the Championship and are in the promotion mix.
One of the key players toward this form has been left-back Charlie Taylor.
He has been in excellent form yet again is back to his best.

But there is a lingering fear he might depart in the winter. Taylor is out of contract in the summer and contract talks appear to have come to a standstill.
Speaking to TV Yorkshire today however Monk made it clear he is not concerned about Taylor potentially leaving the club in January:
“All our players need to stay where they are. I do not have any doubts about any of that.
“That’s very clear, we said the same in the summer. That message is the same so we have no worries about that side of it at all.”
Taylor’s agent is the same man who had Sam Byram as his client and his relationship with Leeds owner Massimo Cellino is strained – which is making a contract renewal difficult. Taylor of course had a transfer request rejected by Leeds in the summer.

Monk went on to discuss his January transfer dealings in general in his post-match press conference. He admitted that Leeds do need some strengthening, but would only be signing players that would fit with the squad:
“In terms of coming-ins ideally we need to help the squad. I think were quite a thin squad, but it will only ever be to help the squad.

“If we can do the right business and it’s the right player and the right situation then of course we’ll look to help the squad.”
Leeds fans will be pleased to hear such bullish comments from Monk regarding Taylor and his hopes for January.
Hopefully he gets both his wishes.
