Leeds United head coach Garry Monk has highlighted the danger that will be posed by one of his former players when Leeds United take on Newcastle United in the Championship on Sunday.

Garry Monk managed Jonjo Shelvey at Swansea City and during that time the midfielder progressed well and even made his first breakthrough into the England team.

However, he remained in and out of the Swansea team under Monk’s management and by the end of his time at the Liberty Stadium Monk was barely using the midfield maestro.

Shelvey can play this weekend, after appealing his FA charge against. Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier today the Leeds boss made it clear that Shelvey will be a danger for Newcastle:

“Jonjo has done fantastic this season.

“He is a talented player. He is a dangerous player.”

Shelvey will undoubtedly be one of the main men for Newcastle in their pursuit of victory against Leeds this weekend.

The game will be a tight affair between the two sides and he could prove the difference for the Toon.

But Leeds fans will hope that Monk’s inside knowledge of Shelvey can help them master a plan to keep him quiet this weekend.
