Leeds United beat Bristol City 2-1 at Elland Road last night, to get back to winning ways.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has told BBC Radio Leeds that he felt that there was a certain weight of expectation at Elland Road last night.

Leeds took on Bristol City yesterday evening, and they managed to pick up a 2-1 victory in the contest.

And Monk claims that Leeds fans are now starting to turn up expecting their side to get the three points, as they have been in such strong form at home recently.

“They were under that little bit extra pressure to perform, after those two defeats,” Monk said. “There was an expectant atmosphere, which was quite rightly so because we’ve done so well here. So credit to the players.”

Leeds actually lost their last home match against Cardiff City, but they have been able to turn Elland Road into a fortress this season.

The Whites have won 11 of their 17 home matches this term, and currently have the fifth best home record in the whole of the Championship.

Leeds managed to get past Bristol City last night in fairly comfortable circumstances.

Leeds took the lead when Chris Wood scored in the first half, and then Pablo Hernandez doubled Monk’s side advantage.

Milan Djuric did pull one back for the Robins, but it was far too late to be anything but a consolation strike.
