Leeds United boss Garry Monk is hopeful over two key players.

Leeds United boss Garry Monk has offered positive news regarding injured attackers Stuart Dallas and Pablo Hernandez.

The duo missed the midweek EFL Cup win over Norwich City, but Monk believes one of them if not two could feature this weekend against Burton Albion at Elland Road.

Of the two it is Pablo Hernandez who is most likely to return to the starting line-up, judging by Monk’s comments at his Thursday press conference.

Monk told TV Yorkshire: “Pablo is for sure in contention for the weekend, and Stu is back out on the pitches but it’s 50-50 I’d say for the weekend to be honest with you.”

The manager added he would weigh up whether it would be a risk to select Dallas, and did not give the impression he would make any hasty decisions.

Leeds have won their last two matches, and are not in need to make any major changes.

The best Dallas can likely hope for is a place on the bench, with Kemar Roofe likely to deputise.

Hernandez could go straight back into the team, replacing Alex Mowatt in the side which started in midweek, who failed to grasp his chance to shine.
