Leeds United boss Garry Monk has given a mixed injury update ahead of the club’s game against Barnsley – as reported on the club’s official Twitter page.
Leeds United have had concerns over the past few days regarding their club captain Liam Bridcutt and new fan favourite Pontus Jansson.

Bridcutt has not featured since the 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers on the 13th September. Jansson meanwhile came off at half-time during the midweek defeat to Bristol City with a hamstring problem
Monk had bad news today on Bridcutt, but better news on the Swedish colossus:
Bridcutt has suffered a broken metatarsal and is set for a lengthy period on the sidelines for Leeds. That means the club will be without their captain for a lengthy period and will undoubtedly be pleased they brought in Eunan O’Kane on deadline day given this development.
Jansson meanwhile looks like he should be set for a return against Barnsley. Leeds fans have instantly fallen for the Swedish defender – who has been sensational since arriving on loan from Torino.
Leeds’ boss also confirmed that Ronaldo Vieira has fully recovered from a knock whilst Gaetano Berardi is now up for consideration.
The hope will be Leeds can cope without their captain for the next two months or so.
