Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has found himself in the crosshairs of pundits and fans recently after some shocking performances in the heart of the Leeds defence.
His two errors in recent games have cost the Leeds team dear.
It was he who effectively forced Marco Silvestri into giving away a red card against Rotherham United and a penalty – before stepping in between the posts. He then gave away a penalty against QPR to gift Tjaronn Chery a chance of levelling up in their most recent outing.
His form has seen him receive plenty of stick in the press and among the Leeds fanbase – with the suggestion that his relationship with controversial Leeds owner Massimo Cellino gives him too much leeway at the club.
It was this question that was put to Leeds head coach Steve Evans earlier today. He had this to say to BBC Radio Leeds:
“Well the first thing I would say is I wouldn’t know if he has a close relationship with Mr Cellino.
