Ipswich Town ace Tom Lawrence ruled out of weekend fixture against Leeds and the derby with Norwich City.
Tom Lawrence of Ipswich Town scores their first goal
Ipswich Town received a blow last night as Tom Lawrence picked up a booking which triggered a two match suspension.
He misses Town’s upcoming matches against Leeds United and the derby with Norwich City.
Lawrence had been in superb form for Mick McCarthy’s side, scoring 10 goals this season, eight in Championship matches.
The Chronicle reported in January that Leeds United were one of the sides tracking the winger, and Garry Monk will surely be glad to get a boost from his absence, while right-back Luke Ayling will breathe a sigh of relief.
Ipswich’s Tom Lawrence takes a freekick
Ipswich will also be without ineligible Toumani Diagouraga this next fixture, who is on loan from Leeds. He has made a big impact since signing, helping inspire the side to a win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Lawrence’s absence for the game against Norwich is a big blow considering the form of Alex Neil’s side, who are back in play-off contention after a blistering start to 2017.
