Leeds United are believed to be keen on Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz – and Tony Mowbray has refused to rule out a January deal.

Eurosport claim that Leeds are looking to move for Brereton Diaz in January.

Burnley, Brighton, Newcastle and Southampton are also interested in Brereton Diaz after his goalscoring exploits this season.

Brereton Diaz has racked up 17 goals in 22 games this season, taking the Championship by storm.

The 22-year-old is seemingly destined for the Premier League, but is currently spearheading Blackburn’s promotion push.

With Brereton Diaz now a Chilean international, former Chile boss Marcelo Bielsa will no doubt be well aware of what he can bring to Leeds.

Mowbray can’t rule out Brereton Diaz leaving Blackburn

Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray has now spoken to the Daily Mail about Brereton Diaz’s situation.

Mowbray has admitted that Blackburn’s owners have lost money lately and that may force the sale of Brereton Diaz.

Mowbray noted that he couldn’t stand in Brereton’s way if he was to land a big Premier League move, with Leeds possibly fitting that bill.

The Rovers boss stated that every player has their price, seemingly unable to guarantee that Brereton Diaz won’t be sold.

“The club will decide, the owners will decide. The owners’ business has suffered a bit in India and Ben Brereton Diaz is doing amazingly well,” said Mowbray. “I was a footballer for 20 years and when you are doing well sometimes you have to strike and if he can get a top, top move and earn the money in the Premier League and be a Premier League striker I would never stop him doing that.”

“I would hope he stays with us and sees the season out at the very least and keeps the goals coming. I’m just delighted for Ben, he’s a lad we signed at 18 and he’s only 22 now. He’s taken a bit of flak over those years, as we spent £6million on him from Nottingham Forest but now, he has come to fruition. He is a man, he has grown up, he feels as if he can use his body and he knows how to score goals. Let’s see what January brings. I hope he’s not in a rush to leave the club, he’s not intimated that at the moment, but every player has their price,” he added.
