Leeds United want Azzedine Ounahi and the move doesn’t appear to be dead despite splashing the cash on Georginio Rutter.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims a Leeds deal to sign Ounahi is ‘not dead’ but the Whites need to make a decision soon.
Romano notes that other clubs are moving to sign Ounahi with Napoli very interested in signing the Morocco World Cup star.
The Athletic add that Leeds are ‘seriously keen’ on signing Ounahi and are genuinely considering a big-money deal before the transfer deadline.
It’s stated that Leeds would ultimately need to make room in their budget in order to sign Ounahi, but a deal cannot be ruled out.
The Whites just spent big money on signing striker Rutter from Hoffenheim, but a move for Ounahi still appears to be a real possibility.

Morocco World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi would be huge coup for Leeds United
Ounahi, 22, was a relative unknown outside of France and Morocco before the World Cup in Qatar.
The midfielder enjoyed a stunning World Cup campaign to truly put himself on the radar as a top talent.
Ounahi brought so much energy to the Morocco side as they reached the semi-finals of the World Cup against all odds.
Add in that Ounahi dazzled with his ability to dribble and drive through midfield and he showed the hallmarks of becoming a top box-to-box midfielder.
Hailed as ‘absolutely incredible’ by Jose Mourinho, Ounahi has been attracting major interest and a big move is surely coming.
Foot Mercato reported last week that Leeds had made an offer, which was around £17.5million according to Daily Express reporter Ryan Taylor.
That’s another significant outlay after Rutter and with Ounahi able to offer more attacking ability than fellow midfielders Tyler Adams and Marc Roca, this could be the next signing Leeds need in order to secure Premier League survival.
