Leeds attacker is in his best run of form at the club.

Leeds United attacker Pablo Hernandez turned in another superb performance at the weekend as the Whites beat QPR.

Fans continue to thank their lucky stars that the Spaniard is playing at Elland Road, as he is the driving force behind their promotion charge.

Signing Hernandez was an inspired decision. Leeds bought him in the 2016/17 season when Garry Monk was manager.

Hernandez looked a class apart from day one. His previous experience in English football with Swansea helped.

But even though Monk played with him, and managed him, he only helped maintain Hernandez’s level of performance, rather than improving him.

After false starts with managers Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom, Leeds finally have a manager in Marcelo Bielsa who is a big upgrade in the dugout. That was even more inspired and creative than signing Hernandez in the first place.

Bielsa probably can’t believe his luck to have a player of Hernandez’s talent available to him in the Championship. Together, the pair of player and manager are a perfect fit.

The Spaniard would have been worthy of gracing his excellent Athletic Bilbao side.

Bielsa has managed to take a gem of a talent like Hernandez, and turn him into a future legend. If Leeds can win promotion, Hernandez will be remembered fondly forevermore at Elland Road.

At the weekend Hernandez was everywhere, leading by example. He created more chances than any Leeds player, and won more tackles than any of his teammates.

If he can maintain this level of performance, Leeds will be in with a serious shot of promotion come May.
