Leeds United want Arnaud Kalimuendo but there seems to be some internal disagreements at Paris Saint-Germain over whether to sell him.
The Whites are desperate to add another striker as cover and competition for Patrick Bamford in the final third.
Charles De Ketelaere was a top target but he has now joined AC Milan instead.
Other names have been mentioned, such as Che Adams and Mergim Berisha, but another that keeps coming up is Kalimuendo.
Leeds United want Arnaud Kalimuendo
French striker Kalimuendo has been linked with Leeds for going on two months now.
The Independent reported in June that Leeds had tabled an offer worth £17million in a bid to sign Kalimuendo.
The 20-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Lens, hitting 21 goals in 65 appearances before heading back to PSG.
Weeks have passed and Kalimuendo is still a PSG player – but Leeds are still keen.
The Sun reported just a matter of days ago that Leeds boss Jesse Marsch would like to have Kalimuendo signed up this week.
That doesn’t look likely to happen though, with Leeds facing more and more delays in their pursuit of Kalimuendo.
Those delays have partly been because PSG have a new manager and sporting director in Christopher Galtier and Luis Campos.
They need to make decisions on the PSG squad and it sounds like there is uncertainty over Kalimuendo.
Transfer insider Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that there is an internal struggle over the future of the Leeds target.
Jones claims that some inside PSG want Kalimuendo to stay and ultimately develop with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Jones does though add that ‘very powerful people’ at the club want to sell Kalimuendo and rake in the cash, with Campos surely part of that contingent.
“There are some people there that want him to stay, but ultimately, there are very powerful people that believe that this could be a good moment to cash-in,” said Jones. “So, Leeds are hoping that that’s the one that comes along because he’s a really good young forward,” he added.
Leeds have been waiting and waiting on Kalimuendo but this can’t keep going on.
If PSG are still torn on Kalimuendo’s future, it may well be time for Leeds to move on and look elsewhere.
