Andy Lonergan has left Wolverhampton Wanderers to join Leeds United in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the club signing Andy Lonergan.
As announced on Leeds’s official website, the Championship club have secured the services of Lonergan on a two-year contract.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper had a spell at Elland Road between 2011 and 2012, during which time he made 38 appearances.
The former England Under-20 custodian then moved to Bolton Wanderers, before joining Fulham in 2015 and subsequently to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016.
As announced on Leeds’s official website, Lonergan has joined the Whites on a free transfer following his departure from Championship rivals Wolves.
The Express & Star has reported that the goalkeeper reached an agreement with the Wanderers to cancel his contract in order to join Leeds on a free transfer.
Lonergan will replace Robert Green in the Leeds team, with the 37-year-old goalkeeper leaving the Whites and joining Huddersfield Town in the Premier League.
