Now Spox report Wiedwald has told Bremen of his desire to play abroad, and a switch to England is mooted.

The report claims Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City are all keen on the goalkeeper.

Wiedwald, 27, is a former German youth international and has been at Werder Bremen since 2015 when he signed from Eintracht Frankfurt.

He has one year remaining on his contract at Bremen who are already looking at replacements, and French side Nantes are also credited with interest.

Each of Leeds, Wolves, Norwich and Nottingham Forest have all appointed new managers in 2017 and could be open to adding a new goalkeeper to add to the competition at the position.

Wiedwald conceded 51 goals in 26 appearances for Bremen last season.
