The Leeds United striker is thought to be a primary transfer target for Huddersfield Town this summer.
Whites boss Thomas Christiansen has a lot of work to do at Elland Road this summer, if he is to assemble a squad capable of making a sustained push for the promotion places.
One immediate concern for Leeds will be the future of Chris Wood, with a whole host of clubs thought to be interested in signing the 25-year-old.
One of those clubs is Huddersfield, with the Terriers believed to be lining up a £15 million swoop for the New Zealand international, according to the Sun.
One major problem for David Wagner’s side will be Leeds’ reluctance to sell their star man to their local rivals, but there is a way that Huddersfield could tempt the Whites into selling – by offering Nahki Wells in part exchange.

Now, there is obviously quite a substantial difference in the valuation of both players, so the Terriers would have to send some cash, along with Wells, to Elland Road in order to make any kind of deal a possibility.
And with the Bermudan’s electric pace, combined with his vast experience of playing in the Championship, he could prove to be a real asset to Leeds if he signs.
Losing Wood would obviously be a big blow for the West Yorkshire side, should he leave during the off-season, but the arrival of Wells would surely soften that.
The acquisition of the 27-year-old Huddersfield forward would enable Christiansen to play with two up front, should he choose to bring in another target-man type striker to play alongside Wells.
And as useful as the Bermuda international would be to Leeds, Wood could be equally as important for Huddersfield.
The Terriers will have their work cut-out if they hope to remain in the Premier League next term, and having someone with the 25-year-old’s goalscoring prowess amongst their team will surely provide a massive boost to their chances of doing just that.
Much will depend on whether Wood is prepared to remain in the Championship with the Whites, and if he wants out, selling him to Huddersfield in part exchange for Wells plus cash could be an acceptable outcome for all parties concerned.
