Alfred Schreuder was spotted alongside Leeds United scout Gaby Ruiz after Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United.
That’s according to Leeds Live, who claim that Schreuder as in attendance to watch the Whites in action.
The Dutchman is now a major contender for the Leeds job following Jesse Marsch’s exit last week.
It’s stated that Schreuder was spotted walking through the John Charles Stand at Elland Road alongside Ruiz and another member of the Leeds recruitment team.
Ruiz is one of Victor Orta’s most trusted lieutenants at Elland Road and he was seemingly involved around Schreuder on Sunday.
Schreuder was sacked by Ajax in January and is now in contention for a swift return to management.
The 50-year-old watched Leeds lose 2-0 to Manchester United and is now the hot favourite for the Elland Road job.

Leeds United have two mystery candidates despite Alfred Schreuder visit
Schreuder isn’t absolutely nailed on for the job just yet.
Leeds Live’s report notes that Leeds have two other candidates in mind and both are currently in jobs elsewhere.
We have to assume that this doesn’t include Rayo Vallecano boss Andoni Iraola or Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, who have been heavily linked of late.
Celtic’s Ange Postecoglou could be one, but it’s incredibly unlikely that he will be leaving Parkhead.
Nuno Espirito Santo would also fit the bill amid recent links; the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is in charge of Al-Ittihad over in Saudi Arabia.
If you want a rogue candidate or two; Kjetil Knutsen at Bodo/Glimt has worked wonders and Mainz boss Bo Svensson has many admirers.
Maybe Orta and co have some surprises up their sleeves but Schreuder looks to be in pole position right now.
