The £4.5million-rated midfielder hopes to feature for the Whites and Marcelo Bielsa and his charges host Villa at Elland Road in the Championship.

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has shared his honest opinion of Aston Villa, the Whites’ next Championship opponents, as they prepare to lock horns at Elland Road on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa’s charges have been in the upper echelons of the table but inconsistency and lacklustre finishing has culminated in some poor results – this month alone, losses to Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Brentford – and a drop out of the top two.

Villa, meanwhile, had a fairly lacklustre season up until March, when everything clicked together for them and they embarked on a club-record run of 10 consecutive wins that has seen them surge into playoff contention.

A 1-0 win over Millwall on Monday ensured that Dean Smith’s charges, who were 14th in the table just a few months ago, will now be in the playoffs after the 46 regular games are done with.

“They’re a good side,” the £4.5million-rated Forshaw told reporters, as per the official Leeds Twitter page. “Dean Smith has got them playing how he wants, they’ve got some really good players.

“But we’ve had some good results against some good sides. We want to put a marker down, gain some momentum and see where it takes us.”

Norwich City and Sheffield United – first and second respectively in the Championship table – both play their fixtures on Saturday evening, so the Leeds players face an uncertain day in terms of permutations and knowing where they stand.
