Leeds United may not have a head coach in place but talisman Pontus Jansson is already looking forward to getting started up again.

The centre-back is currently on international duty with Sweden, and has one more match to play for his country this week.

Jansson took to Twitter last night to update fans regarding his schedule, acknowledging that he will have just a fortnight’s break before returning to pre-season action with Leeds.

Jansson does not sound like he intends on spending himself sunning on the beach, instead preparing mentally and physically for the long season ahead.

He was one of the finds of the season for Leeds United last year, and his performance were all the more impressive considering he arrived at the club and got stuck straight in without having been part of their pre-season set up.

Leeds could see an even better Pontus Jansson this season as a result, although that will depend on who the next head coach is.

His message illustrates just how little time new owner Andrea Radrizzani has to be decisive and appoint a new manager – with the clock swiftly ticking down until the start of the season.

Two weeks to get organised. It should be enough, but then Leeds would not have anticipated their head coach would take as long as it already has done.

The good news for the next manager is they will have a fully fit and motivated Jansson at their disposal.
