49ers Enterprises are expected to purchase Leeds United by January 2024 but most likely at the end of the current season.

The Whites were taken over by Andrea Radrizzani back in 2017 following the rather chaotic Massimo Cellino era.

Radrizzani has helped guide Leeds back to the Premier League but the idea of another takeover has been rife of late.

49ers Enterprises have advanced their interest in Leeds over the years and now appear to be in a place to take full control.

49ers Enterprises are expected to purchase Leeds United

Everybody will have noticed the American influence on the pitch with Jesse Marsch in charge and both Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson arriving over the summer.

In the background though, there is huge influence from 49ers Enterprises.

The ownership group behind the San Francisco 49ers NFL franchise have ben showing a keen interest in Leeds over the years.

Their first involvement came back in 2018 as they became minority investors in Leeds.

Their stake in Leeds has now grown to 44% and The Athletic claim that they have an option to purchase the whole club by 2024.

The Times now state that 49ers Enterprises have secured the necessary funding to buy Leeds and have been getting their ‘ducks in a row’ to complete a takeover.

It’s stated that a deal will be done by January 2024 but is most likely to take place at the end of this season.

That makes it easier to negotiate a final price given that Leeds’ fate – in terms of being a Premier League or Champions League club – will be settled then.

Radrizzani is understood to have a strong relationship with 49ers Enterprises and this won’t be a hostile takeover by any stretch of the imagination.

American owners are being increasingly popular in the Premier League and it looks like Leeds will be joining them in that category very, very soon.
