Leeds United have plenty of exciting young talent coming through the ranks.

Leeds United’s under-23 coach Jason Blunt has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about the need to keep some of the club’s next generation out of the limelight while they develop their games for the second string.
The Whites have given plenty of young players a chance down the years, with Tyler Denton and Ronaldo Vieira recently getting chances under current boss Garry Monk. But Blunt has suggested that two others – Jack Vann and Mikey Taylor – should not be fast-tracked just yet.

Speaking after the pair impressed at centre-back for Leeds’ under-23s against Crewe Alexandra, Blunt told the YEP, “I think they both did well, but I think sometimes we can be in a rush to get in the first-team when sometimes I think they need that bit of development.”
Vann and Taylor are both only 18 and the latter is more commonly used as a full-back, reinforcing just how impressive his performance on Friday was.

Sol Bamba’s recent departure from Elland Road means some of Leeds’ young defenders could get a chance sooner rather than later, but Blunt is right in requesting patience, especially when it comes to those potentially tasked with playing at the heart of a Championship back-line.
