The Whites of Carlos Corberan beat the Blues at Elland Road.

Leeds United Under-23s defender Hugo Diaz has taken to Twitter to express his joy at Carlos Corberan’s side having won the Professional Development League title after overcoming their Birmingham City U23s counterparts on penalties at Elland Road.
The Spaniard started the game on the bench but came on as an 87th-minute substitute in place of Alfie McCalmont, who picked up an injury, and helped the Whites maintain their clean sheet beyond extra time, where spot kicks were left to separate the two teams.

Leeds U23s had already claimed the Northern title last month and, in the 29th game of the campaign, they triumphed in front of over 8,000 fans at Elland Road.

Up next it’s the Leeds senior team’s opportunity to finish the season triumphantly as they face Derby County in the Championship playoffs this month.
