Leeds United are among a clutch of Premier League teams interested in the transfer of AZ Alkmaar gem Milos Kerkez. But the left-back could yet frustrate Jesse Marsch in any move.
That is according to Sky Sports, which reports Kerkez is in no rush to leave Kaaskoppen this month. He appreciates the chance AZ Alkmaar have to lift an Eredivisie title and qualify for the Champions League this term. They have not won the Dutch top-flight since 2008/09.

AZ Alkmaar trail leaders PSV Eindhoven by just four points and 19-year-old Kerkez holds an important role under Pascal Jansen. The defender has started all 14 of their league fixtures so far this term. He also helped Kaaskoppen top Group E in the Europa Conference League.

Leeds United are interested in a transfer for AZ Alkmaar gem Milos Kerkez
Kerkez struck one goal and three assists in six group stage appearances in UEFA’s third-tier European competition. He also laid on three assists over six qualifying ties and has hit two goals in the Eredivisie this term. No AZ Alkmaar player has more assists in all competitions.
Now, Leeds are one of three Premier League sides showing an interest in the transfer of AZ Alkmaar gem Kerkez. AFC Bournemouth and Leicester City are big admirers of the four-cap Hungary international. But Kaaskoppen would demand £17.75m to sell him during January.

Top European clubs are also becoming keen on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez
AZ Alkmaar only signed Kerkez from AC Milan in January 2022 for just €2m (£1.75m). Sky Sports also note the Rossoneri have first refusal to match any bid for the left-back. But he is not keen on a return to San Siro, where he spent one year and did not play a senior game.
Leeds hope Kerkez would consider a transfer from AZ Alkmaar to Elland Road as they still hold an interest in his services despite adding Max Wober from RB Salzburg. Boss Marsch has reunited with his former defender for £14m. But he still wants an out-and-out left-back.
Yet Kerkez – who Sky Sports notes is ‘one of the most exciting prospects in his position in Europe’ – is not pushing to leave the AFAS Stadion. He is looking to help AZ Alkmaar end their title drought, despite interest from Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Lazio.
