Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United are leading the race for Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, a player Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur also want to sign, according to comments from journalist Ciro Venerato in Area Napoli.
Leeds United lead race for Tottenham target Azzedine Ounahi
Venerato has claimed that Leeds are in pole position for Ounahi, also linked with Tottenham in the January transfer window, after making a bid for him to Angers.
The West Yorkshire club have also offered the 22-year-old Morocco international midfielder £43,500-a-week as salary to convince him to move to Elland Road.
According to La Repubblica last week, Tottenham have been in talks with Angers over Ounahi.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport,
According to a report in Calico Napoli 24 this week, Napoli want to sign Ounahi, who is keen on a move to the Italian club.

Venerato said, as translated by SportWitness: “As regards the Napoli transfer market, we can say that Leeds are in pole position for the Moroccan Azzedine Ounahi.
“The English have offered €25m to Angers and €2.5m to the player, higher figures than those offered by Napoli which had stopped at €1.5m.”
Could a January transfer happen?
In our view, Leeds United could find it hard to convince Azzedine Ounahi to move to Elland Road when he has clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli after him, unless, of course, the youngster is tempted by the salary on offer.
Leeds could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, while Tottenham could finish in the top four of the Premier League table this campaign.
As for Napoli, they could win the Serie A title this season and regularly play in the UEFA Champions League.
