Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United or David Moyes’s West Ham United could be able to sign Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma if a potential transfer to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur does not happen, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
Exciting Nicolo Zaniolo update for Leeds United fans
Pedulla has claimed on his website that Leeds and West Ham are Plan B for Zaniolo if a move to Tottenham does not happen in the January transfer window.
Tottenham want to sign the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, but they are unable to agree on the terms of a deal with Roma.
The Italy international reportedly wants to leave Roma this month.
Leeds and West Ham are interested in Zaniolo – described as “extraordinary” by AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho on the club’s YouTube channel in August 2022 – and if the 23-year-old is unable to move to Spurs, then he could join either the Whites or the Hammers, according to the report.

Wow!
In our view, Nicolo Zaniolo would be quite a coup for Leeds United.
The 23-year-old is one of the best young players in Italian football, and for Leeds to be able to bring him to Elland Road in the middle of the season, it would be quite a feat.
Let’s not forget that the West Yorkshire club are in a relegation battle.
So, for Leeds to be appealing to Zaniolo in the January transfer window would be quite something.
