Alexander Nubel has now set his stance on a potential transfer to Leeds United or VfB Stuttgart during the summer window as he targets a move away from Bayern Munich.
That is according to Kicker, which reports that Nubel is determined to agree on a permanent move away from Bavaria. He has returned to the Allianz Arena this summer after a two-year loan spell at AS Monaco. But the 26-year-old does not see his future at the Bundesliga giant.
Bayern Munich, too, are ready to give up on Nubel and sell the goalkeeper despite having a contract until 2025. Der FCB would ideally like to make €15m (£13m) through his departure. But the record German champions will likely have to settle for bids worth €8-10m (£7-8.5m).

Even an asking price of €8-10m (£7-8.5m) is too much for Stuttgart to afford, however. The MHPArena natives would also prefer to sign the former Germany U21 international on loan. Die Roten are loath to block 17-year-old prospect Dennis Seimen’s way into their first-team.
Stuttgart would consider signing Nubel for one or two seasons if the price for his transfer is more viable. Bayern Munich are also strongly opposed to sanctioning another loan transfer, especially given Der FCB know that Leeds are interested in Nubel and are willing to buy him.
The issue for Leeds, however, is that Nubel would prefer to relaunch his Bundesliga career over moving to the Championship. His opposition to moving to the English second-tier has put a strong hurdle in the Whites’ way. So, for now, Leeds are making no progress to a deal.

Bayern Munich are keen to hold fresh talks with Nubel, Leeds and Stuttgart over the coming days about any transfer. All parties are keen to find clarity soon. While Nubel even held talks with Stuttgart club CEO Alexander Wehrle and sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth on Friday.
Wehrle and Wohlgemuth expressed Stuttgart’s fundamental interest to Nubel. But it was just a first meeting and no deal was agreed between the Baden-Wurttemberg state team and the Paderborn native. He has played 47 times in the Bundesliga but just once for Bayern in 2021.
The Daily Mail, meanwhile, reported this Friday that Leeds are willing to pay Bayern Munich £7m for Nubel’s transfer. The Whites held talks with Der FCB as they anticipate bids for Illan Meslier. Yet Nubel’s stance being against a switch to the Championship should create issues.
