Arsenal target Weston McKennie has spoken to Leeds boss Jesse Marsch

The report published today has claimed that Leeds and Juventus are in advanced talks over the transfer of McKennie.

There is confidence in the Leeds camp that a deal will be done.

The USA international midfielder himself has personally spoken to Leeds boss and compatriot Marsch.

Blow for the Gunners?

This will come as a blow for Arsenal.

The Gunners have also been linked with McKennie, who played for the USA at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Arsenal have made a bid of €30 million (£26.5 million), according to La Repubblica.

However, it seems that it is Leeds who are in a better position to sign the 24-year-old.

Now, all is not lost for Arsenal.

Yes, McKennie seems open to a move to Leeds, but Arsenal could still persuade him to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Gunners will have to make a better offer than Leeds, both to Juventus and to McKennie.

Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, and the chance to win major trophies and play in the UEFA Champions League like he does with Juventus could sway the America.
