The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Premier League duo Leeds and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Coulibaly from Salernitana in the January transfer window.
Leeds and Forest both have made approaches, and both have been turned down.
The Sun reported last month interest in the former Rangers loanee from Forest, adding that Salernitana are looking for £8.5 million in transfer fees for the 26-year-old Mali international midfielder.
Could a January transfer happen?
In our view, Leeds United or Nottingham Forest could be able to sign Lassana Coulibaly in January, but they have to pay the £8.5 million transfer fee needed.
Salernitana are now aware that they have two big Premier League clubs interested in the Malian star, so they are going to try to get as much money as they can.
After all, it is in the Serie A club’s interest to have a bidding war over Coulibaly.
Coulibaly has scored one goal and provided two assists in 15 Serie A matches so far this season.
