Leeds United have been informed that Salzburg striker Noah Okafor would cost £25million if they were to pursue a deal in January or next summer – and it is a fee that has got to convince Victor Orta to put the wheels into motion.
Okafor, 22, has made an excellent start to the campaign with Salzburg generating another new wave of talent. Two of the previous wave are now at Leeds, in the form of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen. Okafor looks impressive.
Even before this season, Okafor looked good. Playing 78 times for Salzburg since his move from Basel, he had 24 goals and 18 assists in 78 games. But this season, Okafor has taken his form to a new level – scoring six goals in 11 games.
One of those goals came in a 1-1 draw with AC Milan. Reports claim that Leeds are interested in the Switzerland star, and now his agent has made it public that interested parties will have to pay around £25million to sign Okafor.

Patrick Bamford is now 29. It is a long time since he turned out for England, and scored 17 Premier League goals in a season. Becoming somewhat injury prone, he still has four years on his deal, but he needs help up top.
Joe Gelhardt is a talent, but he himself has admitted he has not been as good as he can be this season. Rodrigo’s form comes in drips and drabs, and then an injury hits. Leeds need a striker that they can rely on, one that is first choice.
Okafor can be the club’s new long-term no.9. He is already churning out goal after goal. He has pace, power, goals and assists – and is coming from a club that Leeds and Jesse Marsch know well. For £25million, he should be a no-brainer.
