The conveyor belt of talent at Leeds United’s academy keeps on producing quality young players – and another is busy making a name for himself.
Teenage forward Tom Pearce has been in outstanding form for the club’s under-18 side, who won their fourth successive game of the season last week.
Pearce scored twice in the 3-2 win over Bolton, a performance which earned him a call-up to the under-21 team.

He featured in yesterday’s defeat to Millwall, the first time the under-21s had lost this season, but he did manage to find the scoresheet in the 3-1 loss, scoring from the penalty spot.
Pearce took to Twitter to acknowledge the milestone of netting for the under-21s, also expressing his disappointment at the team’s loss.
This season is more about transitioning successfully from under-18 to under-21 football for him rather than any aims of making the first team, but if he can make one step up smoothly then a first team spot will then become the aim, more likely in 2016/17 at the earliest.
The early signs are positive, the fact he has been called into the under-21 reckoning, and if he continues to find his way onto the scoresheet at either level then Pearce will do his chances no harm.
