Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne has told Tumspor that he wants to finish the season with the club, despite talk of a January move to Leeds United.

Diagne, 27, was playing in China with Tianjin Teda before heading to Turkey with Kasimpasa in January of this year, and has become something of a late bloomer.

After years on the books of Juventus but being loaned out to Ajaccio, Lierse, Al-Shabab and Westerlo, scoring a combined 10 goals in 25 games for those four clubs, Diagne has now hit his stride.

The Senegalese hitman finished last season with 12 goals in 17 games for Kasimpasa, he has now opened this season with 11 goals in just 10 games.

Now a full international and a prolific goalscorer, Diagne is at the peak of his powers – and speculation surrounds his future with Kasimpasa.

Turkish-Football.com recently reported that Leeds United have been keeping close tabs on Diagne ahead of a potential January move, though his price tag is of course rising by the game at this point.

Now, Diagne has discussed his future, and has told Tumspor that – as translated by Turkish Football News – that he won’t be moving in January as he wants to finish ths season with Kasimpasa.

However, the giant striker, whose strength and aerial ability could give Marcelo Bielsa a new dimension at Leeds and a striker akin to ex-Bielsa stars Fernando Llorente or Andre-Pierre Gignac, has suggested that he could go to England and wants to progess his career.

“I want to finish the season with Kasimpasa this year,” said Diagne. “It’s too early to talk about what will happen, whether I will join another team in Turkey or go to England or France or some other country.”

“But I want to progress in my career. I know if I continue this way there will be many teams who will show interest in me. This is normal, of course, because a forward who scores a lot of goals always attracts attention,” he added.
