According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (print edition; 17th September 2017; page 63), Leeds are interested in signing Getafe forward Emi Buendia, who is currently on loan at the Whites’ feeder club Cultural Leonesa.

And based on the 20-year-old’s most recent performance, it is not difficult to see why Thomas Christiansen’s men are keen to bring him to Elland Road at some stage in the future.

Leonesa went into the clash with Huesca – the team who sold Samuel Saiz to Leeds during the summer transfer window – looking to continue their impressive recent run which has seen them avoid defeat since the middle of August.

And Buendia was a key reason why they extended that run and moved themselves up to fourth in the Segunda Division as he contributed two assists to inspire Leonesa to a 3-2 win.

Those two assists takes the youngster’s tally to five for the campaign already in the league, which makes him the most prolific player in that area across the entire division with Huesca’s Alvaro Vadillo second on the list with three assists to his name.

Given his recent form, it is arguably not a surprise that Leeds are contemplating the idea of making a move. And if he continues to create goals as frequently as he has done so far, it may not be out of the question to suggest that the Whites may face plenty of competition for his signature.
