Leeds United defender Luke Ayling picked up a late red card in the club’s hotly contested 1-1 draw at the weekend.
Ayling received a second booking against Brentford which rules him out of Leeds’ upcoming game against Blackburn Rovers after the international break.
The suspension makes Bryce Hosannah’s return from injury perfectly timed.
The 19-year-old made his comeback from injury for Leeds’ under-23 side at the weekend.
Hosannah was one of Leeds’ standout players in the under-23s last season and featured for the first team in the club’s post-season tour of Burma.
The teenager was a free pick up from Crystal Palace’s academy in the summer of 2018.
Hosannah won’t be in contention to start for Leeds against Blackburn in Ayling’s absence, with Gaetano Berardi expected to deputise in a position he once featured regularly.
What the youngster does offer is cover, in case of a setback with Berardi’s fitness, and an extra option from the bench.
