The trip to Boothferry Crescent will be special for one player in particular, if selected.
Young striker Ryan Edmondson signed with Leeds from non-league York City at the start of 2018, fulfilling a dream by joining the club he supported as a boy.
Edmondson has since turned 17 and already made his first team debut for the Whites.
He was selected in Leeds’ final game of the season against QPR off the bench, after a series of impressive performances for the under-23 side.
Edmondson then got a chance to play on the tour of Myanmar in mid-May.
He did not make the bench for Leeds’ visit to Forest Green on Tuesday night, but will be hoping to be rotated back in for this fixture.
Many of Leeds’ players completed the full 90 minutes, while new signings Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman were missing, along with Ronaldo Vieira and Tyler Roberts.
If he is given a chance against York City, it is unlikely to be an experience the teenager forgets any time soon, and the familiar surroundings could help him get his 2018/19 season off to a flier.
