Leeds United beat Atalanta 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United ended pre-season on a high with a 2-1 home win over Italian side Atalanta on Saturday afternoon, with Kemar Roofe grabbing the winning goal.
The Whites played in front of the Elland Road crowd for the first time this summer, and took an early lead as Chris Wood converted from the penalty spot after a handball inside the area.

Atalanta did hit back before half time as Marco D’Alessandro struck an equaliser for the Serie A outfit, but Leeds did claim the win as Kemar Roofe notched from close range.
Garry Monk will be pleased to have claimed his first Elland Road win as Leeds boss, and now it’s full steam ahead for next weekend’s Championship opener against Queens Park Rangers.

The Whites travel down to take on Jimmy Floyd Floyd Hasselbaink’s side at Loftus Road on Sunday afternoon, and will be hoping to kick the new season off in style.
For now though, two of Leeds’ summer signings have been celebrating the Atalanta victory on Twitter, with goal hero Roofe – recently signed from Oxford United in a big-money deal – admitting it felt great to play at Elland Road.

Roofe also posted a picture on Instagram modelling the new Leeds home kit alongside his former West Brom youth team-mate Wood – a partnership Leeds will be hoping to see flourish this season.
Fellow new boy Hadi Sacko stated on Twitter that it was a ‘strong team performance’ from Leeds ahead of next season’s game against QPR…
