Valencia are reportedly keen on Leeds United’s Samu Saiz.

Leeds United fans aren’t enjoying the summer transfer window having seen their club land just two signings, and Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker are only on loan from Chelsea.
Many expected major investment to support new manager Marcelo Bielsa, but with time ticking down towards the transfer deadline, Leeds are still in need of a number of signings.
Fans are focused on potential incomings, but one story broke in Spain over the weekend suggesting that Leeds have been fending off interest in star playmaker Samu Saiz.
Fichajes report that his former club Huesca, as well as Getafe and Valencia, have failed with bids for Saiz, as Leeds have stood firm and rejected up to £9million for the Spaniard.
Saiz, 27, hit five goals and seven assists for Leeds last season following a move from Huesca last summer, and whilst some questioned his application in the second half of the season, he remains one of the most naturally-gifted players at Leeds’ disposal.
Standing firm is a great show of intent from Leeds, but the player himself would be forgiven for having his head turned by a potential move to Valencia given their standing in world football.

Marcelino’s side are back in the Champions League next season, and playing in Europe’s premier club competition may just be tempting to Saiz given that he will be 28 midway through the upcoming season.
Saiz may not have many more opportunities to play in the Champions League as he heads towards 30, and whilst much may depend on whether Valencia return with a second bid, it may be difficult for Leeds to prevent Saiz from being tempted by a move to the Mestalla.
