Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday are separated by only goal difference in the Championship table.

Whites centre-back Kyle Bartley spoke to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his side’s upcoming Yorkshire derby with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, and highlighted how he and his teammates fully expect to take three points from the eagerly anticipated encounter.
Garry Monk’s men have impressed so far this season, and currently sit in fifth position in the Championship table, level on points with Carlos Carvalhal’s side, and ahead of them only because of their superior goal difference.
Both sides are 10 points adrift of the automatic promotion places, and seven points clear of seventh placed Norwich City, so it it fairly likely that they will end up inside the promotion play-off spots come May.
The game at Elland Road at the weekend will hold huge importance for both Yorkshire clubs, however, as they head into the final third of the campaign.
And Bartley outlined the Leeds squad’s confidence as they build up to their game against the Owls, highlighting their focus on the task in hand, when speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post:

“We have said it all season long that our biggest game is our next game so that is our next game. We will prepare well in the week and go into that match wanting the three points and expecting the three points as well.”
Bartley has been a fantastic loan signing for the Whites this term, with his assured displays at the heart of Leeds’ defence proving to be pivotal to their superb defensive record.
And Leeds fans will be hoping that he extends his stay at Elland Road over the summer when his loan deal expires.
