Pontus Jansson has hailed Liverpool target Alexander Isak.
Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has told Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter that he has been impressed with reported Liverpool target Alexander Isak.
Whilst Sweden have had a number of great strikers in recent years such as Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, they appear to have unearthed another attacking gem in Isak.
The 17-year-old centre forward, stands at a giant 6ft 3in tall, and has been catching the eye with some superb performances for Swedish side AIK Solna this season.

With 11 goals in 24 games, Isak’s record is frankly ridiculous given his age, and those exploits have unsurprisingly made him one of the most in-demand teenagers in world football.
Spanish newspaper Sport recently reported that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all tracking Isak, whilst Liverpool are also registering an interest in his signature.
Any young player would love to play for Jurgen Klopp, and the prospect of first-team football may be greater at Anfield than with Barca, Bayern or Real Madrid.

With speculation surrounding Isak’s future, Swedish international defender and Leeds United hero Pontus Jansson has been asked for his thoughts on the youngster’s future.
Jansson told newspaper Dagens Nyheter that it’s ‘pretty damn fun’ to watch Isak in action, as he follows Swedish football closely still – even if he wishes Isak was playing for Malmo rather than AIK Solna.
Jansson added that it’s ‘very difficult’ to say whether Isak should go, and even discussed the situation with his Swedish international team-mates – but thinks that they player is very mature and won’t let the hype go to his head amid all the rumours.

“It’s pretty damn fun to see him,” said Jansson. “I follow the league closely and I am deeply impressed. It is hard to say how good he is and how far he can go. But he seems very mature. 17 years and he is so good.”
“It is very difficult to say (whether he should go). It is impossible to say what level and league is suitable for him. It’s really difficult. We sat and talked about it actually in the locker room just now, what would be the right choice for him. I am just glad that there is such a player in Swedish football. I only wish that he had been in Malmö instead!” he added.
