Leeds United star Pablo Hernandez was left out of the squad to face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon – and he has taken to Instagram to send a message to fans.
Hernandez was omitted from Marcelo Bielsa’s squad to face Palace at Selhurst Park, as teenager Jack Jenkins was named on the bench instead.
Leeds fell to a 4-1 defeat in South London, and many were left wondering just why Hernandez wasn’t even in the squad, never mind just the starting XI.
Hernandez started against Leicester City on Monday, and was substituted in the second half as Leeds were chasing the game.
However, it became clear that Hernandez had thrown his black armband into the stands when he was substituted, showing a moment of frustration at Bielsa’s decision.
We’ve seen Bielsa take exception to a certain attitude in the past, with Pontus Jansson sold in the summer of 2019 having seemingly fallen foul with Bielsa.

Now, Hernandez has taken to Instagram to apologise for his gesture, making clear that it was his frustration at the game rather than anything about his feelings towards Remembrance Day.
Hernandez vowed to represent the values of Leeds United as he always has, and he will now hope that the matter is settled and he can get back into the Leeds side after the international break.
