Leeds United beat Sheffield United 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United suffered a major blow in the Championship promotion race on Saturday afternoon, losing 1-0 at home to Sheffield United.
The Whites knew a win would went Chris Wilder’s side and their own hopes of a promotion spot, but they couldn’t find the win.
The likes of Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison and Tyler Roberts all missed opportunities before Roberts hit the post, and Leeds were made to pay for their profligacy.
A Sheffield United counter-attack cut Leeds open, and Billy Sharp teed up Chris Basham to score the winner, with late drama coming as goalkeeper Kiko Casilla was sent off.
Leeds couldn’t get back into the game and lost 1-0, with the Blades leapfrogging them into the automatic spots with just eight games to play.
Whites fans were hurt by the defeat, and clearly so was midfielder Mateusz Klich, as he took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message to fans.

The Pole suggested that ‘football is being cruel’ after the defeat, noting that he can’t believe Leeds managed to lose, but he’s looking forward to going again after the international break.
Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford also took to social media to share their disappointment at the defeat, with Leeds now having a two-week break before their next Championship fixture.
