Leeds United defender Luke Ayling wants Manchester United in the next round.

Luke Ayling of Leeds United feels the cold during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Leeds United at Villa Park on December 29, 2016 in Birmingham, England.

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling is not being shy about who he wants to face in the next round of the EFL Cup.

Ayling took to Twitter after the penalty shootout win over Burnley to hail the dramatic victory – and call out Manchester United.

Leeds have missed the rivalry with United since their 2004 relegation, and have had to rely on cup fixtures to get a fix.

They infamously beat the Red Devils in the FA Cup at Old Trafford in 2010, but lost their last meeting in the League Cup in 2011.

Ayling’s comments say a lot about the confidence running through the Leeds squad at present, which is justified with the team sitting at the top of the Championship after eight games.

The draw for the next round of the Carabao Cup will be made tonight.

Manchester United have not yet booked their place, and they will take on Burton Albion this evening, who could start Leeds loanee Luke Murphy against them.
