Roofe suffered a knee injury as Leeds beat Swansea 2-1 last time out.

Kemar Roofe has been quoted by the Daily Mail as saying that he could return in April after suffering a knee injury during Leeds United’s 2-1 win over Swansea City.
Roofe, 26, has been in exceptional form for the Whites this season, scoring 14 goals in 26 Championship appearances. He has since been used in a number 10 role, following Patrick Bamford’s return to fitness.
Leeds earned a 2-1 win over Graham Potter’s side thanks to goals from Pontus Jansson and Jack Harrison, but Roofe suffered an injury despite playing for the entire 90 minutes.
The former West Bromwich Albion and Oxford United ace was confirmed as suffering ligament damage by the club’s website earlier this week, but no timescale was given. Now, Roofe has stated that he will be out for up to eight weeks.
“I suffered damage to my lateral ligament and I will be out for six to eight weeks,” Roofe told Radio X, as quoted by the Mail. When asked if he would play again this season, Roofe added, “Yes, I will be back for the final six or seven games, maybe a bit sooner. Every game is like a final now, each three points is massive.”

Eight weeks on the sidelines would see Roofe be available for the last five Championship matches of the season, starting with April 13’s Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday. He would miss nine league games.
Leeds are preparing to take on Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road on Saturday as they look to build on the win against Swansea and remain in the automatic promotion places.
