Leeds United have signed Laurens De Bock on a permanent transfer, making him the Whites’ third signing of the window.

Laurens De Bock has told LUTV following his move to Leeds that tackling and physicality are his biggest strengths, while he admitted that keeping his focus is the part of the game that he would consider to be his biggest weakness.

Leeds have today confirmed on their official website that the left-back has joined on a permanent basis from Club Brugge, with the Belgian signing a contract until the end of the 2021/22 season.

And after becoming the Whites’ third signing of the window, De Bock explained what Leeds fans may be able to expect from him as he outlined both his strengths and his main weakness.

“I think my strength is my tackling. I have very good tackles, the fans like that here. The rough football, I also like,” he told LUTV.

“Maybe my weakness, sometimes I have to keep my focus every minute of the game but I think that will not be a problem to work on it at Leeds.”

With Gaetano Berardi and Vurnon Anita both right-footed, and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson not exactly taking his chance during his loan spell at Elland Road, it will no doubt be a boost for Thomas Christiansen to have a left-back at his disposal who is comfortable in the position and should not be overawed by the situation.

De Bock has played in the Champions League and won trophies with Brugge, so the pressure of helping Leeds try and secure a spot in the play-off places in the Championship may perhaps not faze him in the coming months.

Leeds fans could get their first glimpse of the defender this weekend when Christiansen’s side travel to East Anglia to face Ipswich at Portman Road. A win could see Leeds move up to fifth.
